Blake on the Beach

22-year-old Blake Lively, aka Serena van der Woodsen, sports the wet look on the June edition of American Vogue, photographed by the notable Mario Testino. The blonde actress, whose enviable locks are soaked on the cover, has a rather unexpected accessory throughout the shoot, a surfboard. But not to worry, the assisting article, written by Hamish Bowles (European editor-at-large) focuses on his and Blake’s adventures into learning how to surf.

Although she may seem surprisingly young to be a Vogue cover star, this isn’t the first time. A 21-year-old miss Lively graced the February 2009 issue looking more old school Hollywood glamour than California beach babe. Either way she looks amazing on both og the covers.

Both covers look very Vogue-y in that high budget kind of way, a far cry from the Rolling Stones cover featuring Leighton Meester and Blake photographed by the infamous Terry Richardson.

Sex and the City 2

At last it’s here girls, long awaited, we all want to know…….What happened next??

Sex and the City 2 is just around the corner and the fashion looks more fabulous than I could even imagine.

We are whisked away to New York accompanied by the voice of Alicia Keys and Jay Z’s ‘Empire State of Mind’ and from then on we are taken by the fashion gods and guided through Carey’s wardrobe of fabulousness. We all envy her wardrobe which is 3 times the size because now she’s shacked up with BIG. But there’s trouble a foot because BIG has turned into the kind of husband that prefers to snuggle rather than sip crystal whilst socialising with the Jones’s. This doesn’t sit right with Carey and she’s beginning to wonder.

Skip a few chapters and the girl’s jet off to Abu Dhabi all expenses paid of course, this doesn’t stop the fashion parade, you see sequins, glitter, gold, sparkle and wonder. This is a lesson to us all, just because you’re in the desert doesn’t mean you can’t look like a million dollars.

There has to be a classic outfit of Carey’s that will be remembered and the movie doesn’t disappoint. Carey is roaming around a souk in a J’Adore Dior t-shirt and purple ball gown skirt as you do. And in this beauty of an outfit who is she going to bump into?? Aidan of course!!!

There’s more splashes of greatness like the gayest wedding on the planet (marvellous darling) and fashion tragic 80’s flash backs, which I’m sure add humour to the movie.

Above all it gets my vote and I’ve already picked out my out fit I’m wearing to the cinema. Even though I’m sitting in the dark I still got to try and be a fashionista.

Clash of the Supermodels

It has been revealed that the new action film, Clash of the Titans, which stars Avatar’s James Samuel, has a couple of unexpected supermodels swapping the runways for the silver screens. Last week a video of Natalia Vodianova as villainess Medusa was released, ironically the tale of Medusa was such that she was so ugly her looks turned humans to stone. Meanwhile Agyness Deyn, who has made no qualms about aspiring to be an actress, will be appearing in the film as Aphrodite, the goddess of beauty and love.

True Hollywood Glamour at The Oscars

Last night saw the 82nd ceremony of the Academy Awards and there were a fair few historic moments for Hollywood – first and foremost Kathryn Bigelow winning Best Director for her film The Hurt Locker – as Barbara Streisand presented the award she announced “well the time has come” referring to the historic relevance of this achievement -the first time a woman had ever won Best Director at the Academy Awards. Sandra Bullock beat a mix of iconic actresses and promising new talent such as Meryl Streep in ‘Julie and Julia’, Helen Mirren in ‘The Last Station’, Carey Mulligan in “An Eduction” and Gabourey Sidibe in ‘Precious’ for the award for Best Actress for her role in “The Blind Side”. She accepted her award with a moving speech drenched head to toe in sparkle in a stunning Marchesa gown and she was not the only lady to capture true Hollywood glamour last night. Here is ten of the gorgeous outfits that stood out most for us on the red carpet last night from faces old and new.

Cameron Diaz in Oscar de la Renta

Diane Kruger in Chanel Haute Couture

CFW: Fin

London Fashion Week kicks off tomorrow so we’ll show the last pics from Copenhagen Fashion Week. FIN’s show consisted of draped jersey dresses and tops in blue, black and nude colour ways which we loved, and the models were styled in a simple way which was nice for a change.

Ps. We’ll be blogging and tweeting live from LFW, so watch this space!

Decadent Dressing for the “Valentines Day” Premiere

Hailed to be America’s answer to Love Actually, we are all beside ourselves with excitement for the release of chick flick “Valentines Day” due to the array of appearances from various hollywood stars, hilarious trailers and the eye catching ad campaign. But when we checked out what various hollywood ladies were wearing at the LA premiere of the movie this week it not only heightened our excitment to see the movie but also gave us some style inspiration at the same time! Everyone was looking fabulous, and we got some serious dress envy from the various leading ladies of the multi narrative movie. Accesorising not being forgotten either, with some gorgeous shoes and bags making an appearance.

Valentines Day is released on Friday and we can’t help thinking its got all the makings of a box office smash hit!

Golden Globes Go Girly

Last night was the 2010 Golden Globes, and the ladies were out in full red carpet glamour despite the rain. Winners included the much raved about AvatarUp and The Hangover. Sandra Bullock took best actress and Glee (no, we’re not sure whether to sing along or vomit yet either) took Best Tv Comedy or Musical. We noticed that amongst the fabulous gowns, there were a lot of pretty pastels knocking around. It looks like this summer is going to be pretty and feminine…  I’m sure we’ll cope with that (after all it’s much less dangerous than dressing like Gaga!). What do you think of these dresses?

‘Lives of the Artists’ Premiere

Last night at Shoreditch town hall, FashAddict went to the premiere of new documentary, ‘Lives of the Artists’, a new documentary following snowboarder Xavier De Le Rue, surfers Tom Lowe and Fergal Smith, and rock band Gallows.

It really was a fascinating film, both intelligent and invigorating. You got a real adrenaline rush watching Xavier De Le Rue snowboarding to the edge of mountains.

The event was a real hit, with burlesque girls in nipple-tassles handing out free drinks (all mixed with Relentless– the sponsor) and popcorn to guests chilling out on sofas.

We managed to grab a chat with Xavier afterwards, he was charming, and we can’t believe he escaped being caught in an avalanche with nothing but a torn knee! Filthy Dukes and Black Teeth did DJ sets afterwards.

‘We can only watch, absorb and learn’ is the documentary’s tagline, but it seemed we had ‘absorbed’ more alcohol than anything else… so off we went to bed in the hope we would have dreams of hurtling down Everest, one day…

Check back here soon for some of our snaps from the event!
