Fashion Week may be over but the shows are still going on as Zac Posen launched his new line, Z Spoke at Saks Fifth Avenue Wednesday evening here in New York. Plenty of guests, including actress Rose Byrne, sipped champagne, mingled and admired Posen’s latest ideas falling under his Z Spoke collection. With affordable prices and casual, yet sophisticated day dresses, blazers and bright colors, it’s that perfect New Yorker look we’ve been waiting for.
Before calling it a night, I had to let myself live a little and headed downtown to Gallery Bar to check out the more free spirited, artistic side of fashion at a fundraiser for Eco Art Space. And this truly was fashion as art at its finest. Who needs clothes when you can have paint? Crazy party-goers and artists collaborated on a huge live exhibition, using bodies as canvases. Although I didn’t make it to the end of the evening, I wonder if the body paint trend caught on as people ventured to the streets. Who knows, perhaps next season designers will drop the fabric and pick up a paint brush.
