Label LOVE: Chelsea Bravo

Graduate fashion week is fast approaching and excitement is building as the industry waits with bated breath for tomorrows design stars to reveal themselves. London is world famous for its eclectic and innovative design ideas especially through our graduates who hold the power to transform the fashions of the future and none more so than UCA graduate Chelsea Bravo. The up and coming designer based in London is to show her ‘Soft Armour’ collection at Earls Court on Monday 7th June.

With each look an object of desire not only do we LOVE the soft and sensual collection, it is also based around the theme of love, ‘this collection derives from the emotion and experience of love and the break down of a man’s ego’. Each piece is a beautifully crafted masterpiece of draped, cascading jersey fabric that is not only visually stunning, but pushes the viewer and wearer to embrace the emotions that inspired their concept. When presented as a cohesive collection the designs create an arresting statement on modern relationships. Weakness and vulnerability are referenced alongside the idea of the male ego worn as armor, mirroring the different stages of defense and submission one goes through whilst in love. An analysis of the male muscle construction has influenced a masculine element to the pieces resulting in a softer take on street wear and giving the designs an on trend sporty feel. With such inspirational concepts and a first collection as fresh, contemporary and challenging as this we can’t wait to see what’s next for this London label.

Graduate Fashion Week, 6-11 June 2010, Earls Court, London.
