Taupe was once seen as a boring colour that only old ladies wore, but the taupe craze started after it was seen at the spring/summer ’10 Chanel catwalk. The Chanel make up director says he chose this colour because it’s an incredibly sophisticated colour, which we can definitely agree with. The shade has been seen on many trend setting fashionistas lately such as Rihanna, Lily Allen and Fearne Cotton to name a few.
The original Chanel colour was a big hit on the red carpet with many celebs opting for the refreshingly soft colour, and it had already sold out when it first came on sale in January. So this spring it’s out with the dark nail polishes and the classic reds and in with taupe!
