Its not just new styles that are being launched in the shops for spring summer 2010 right now, there is also a whole host of new scents, as I found out when I headed to the launch of the new collections for “The Perfume Shop” at The Hospital Club in Covent Garden last week. From fashion houses to celebrity brands, a whole host of new scents and limited editions perfumes are hitting the shelves over the next couple of months and we went to the trouble of hunting out the perfect signature smell for each style and a garment to wear your scent with! We were paticularly taken with three scents from across the pond, inspired by New York, very fitting with our current obsession with keeping up to date with NYFW!
Pure DKNY is built around a “drop of vanilla in water” accord created with vanilla sourced from a women’s agriculture project in Uganda. Additional notes include dew-drop petal accord, lotus, rose, transparent jasmine, freesia, orchid, white amber and sandalwood. Perfect for any sophisticated woman to spritz on for a spring day, matched beautifully with the “sandra” blouse from our very own Chandelier range available at our website http://www.fashaddict.co.uk
The new scent being released this summer “NYC” from Sarah Jessica Parker is more reflective of her playful character Carrie Bradshaw in Sex and the City “A large part of the inspiration was what I now understand to be people’s impressions of seeing Carrie Bradshaw walk down the street and what feelings that evokes for her and for them — a real sense of freedom and possibilities, a love for the city around her and, of course, fashion,” Parker said “We started with this idea that we wanted to create something fun. We wanted to create a party in a bottle and reflect that in the packaging with a real sense of whimsy, fun and joie de vivre. And then we took it from there. Portability and fashion played key roles in the development of the packaging and overall concept.” This playful and flirty style is encapsulated in the “fiona” top from Duke & Duchess, also available now at http://www.fashaddict.co.uk
