For those of us that aren’t jetting off to sunnier tropical climates this summer, it seems difficult to justify the purchase of a new bikini and an embellished kaftan… however when the weather is warm, the city is unbearably humid and sweaty.
So this week I’ve put together a couple of looks to help you look your best on a hot day in the big smoke, whilst you are keeping as cool as possible. Channeling the safari trend for city wear is a fresh new take on your summer wardrobe, a welcome change from all the floral prints and romantic pastel shades. Team earthy colours with slouchy fabrics, a pair of gladiators and a great hat then you are good to go. I love the “Beth” shorts Va Vizuri currently have in stock and putting them with the black leopard print cardigan from To Love Kuvaa is another nod to the jungle safari look. If you would prefer to be a bit more covered up and avoid the chance of sun burnt legs then grab the buckle detail harem pants and drapey vest from Brick Lanes Finest and you are sorted.
Now you have no excuse to not be looking slick in the city in every season.

If you are one of the lucky ones jetting off to a palm tree lined beach this summer I know what a nightmare it can be to put together looks that suit a whole different climate – so I thought I’d give you a hand with your packing! This summer I think its all about bright tones and tropical motifs. Our very own “To Love Kuvaa” range has everything you could possibly need – and my key items I think you shouldn’t be without for your holiday this year is the “Sara” hat, the “Flower” playsuit and a straw hat which can be dressed up with chunky jewelery in the evenings and paired with anything from denim shorts to a high waisted skirt. I particularly love this look with a soft grey cardigan (this style is “Vicky”) – a look that works just as well for festivals and for summers in the city.
Add a cute bikini, some chunky wooden wedges and a big pair of sunnies then you are good to go! Oh, and don’t forget your suncream! Happy Holidays!

Office wear is always a bit of an issue in summer – you want to look smart but can’t bear long days in a stuffy office in tights, long trousers or blazers. So this week I’ve put together a look for you that will keep you cool whilst no doubt turning heads at work for being the best dressed person in the office!
Harem trousers are bang on trend for spring/summer and feel great due to the soft fabrics and slouchy design – our very own Brick Lane’s Finest range have got the ideal pair in their black “Geeney” pants available at our online boutique. My suggestion is using them to create a girly, vintage look which will keep you smart and also summery in the workplace this week. The “Maria” blouse from “To love Kuvaa” looks great tucked into the harem’s and the monochrome tones will be both flattering and stylish. Tie your hair back in a neat ponytail to keep your hair off your face and add some pearl jewellery and black mid heels and you will have yourself the perfect summer outfit for work even on the hottest of sunny days.
With Isle of Wight kicking off the festival season last weekend and Glasto fast approaching the excitement is high but also festival fear is setting in – will it rain? How much dry shampoo shall I pack? And most importantly.. what shall I wear?
Well your trusty stylist can help you with at least one of your problems, as this week I am addressing the issue of festival fashion and have put together a perfect look that will take you from day to night and be low maintenance enough when you only have a two man tent to get ready in! My suggestion is getting your hand on the staple item of festival favorites like Alexa Chung and Pixie Geldof – vintage high waisted levi shorts – which are easy to come by from any good vintage shop. Couple them with To love Kuvaa’s sheer “Laurie” crop top and the slouchy “Andie” cardigan from “Chandelier. If you really want to style it up you could add a straw trilby like this one from FashAddict accessories. With a pair of ray-ban sunnies and this seasons hunter wellies you’ll be guaranteed to be the best dressed at whichever festival you are hitting this summer!
Welcome to the new FashAddict stylist solutions column where I will be giving you a weekly dose of how to perfect the latest trends and how to wear/accesorise our favourite best sellers!
Summer is officially upon us… and this weather where it can be raining one minute – sun shining the next means you need to be prepared at every moment for an impromptu barbeque or trip to the park. So I’ve put together a look this week that is perfect for just those sort of situations. Everyone at the FashAddict office has been talking about the gorgeous new “Ricki” floral halterneck dress from our very own “To love Kuvaa” range. The cute design and lightweight fabric makes this dress the perfect garment to slip on when you are heading for a day at the park – partner it with this cute denim studded waistcoat from “Va Vizuri” to grunge it up a little, some girly flats and the “Loola” straw trilby hat from our new FashAddict accessories range and you’ll have the perfect look to couple comfort and style this picnic season. The dress and hat are both available on our freshly launched online boutique http://www.fashaddict.co.uk
Now get outside and enjoy the sunshine!
Here’s our third installment from the American Intercontinental University Graduate Show – graduate Lulu Vasquez sent her models down the runway with whips, masks, feathers and plenty of leather. Bright pinks, black and silver. The collection was so captivating in fact that when a minor runway disaster occured – one of the models stilettos coming off as she walked down the runway – the show still went on barely affected and the collection looked fantastic.
When watching the collections go down the runway at the American Intercontinental University Graduate Show on Thursday, we were loving the bright structured dresses graduate Sara Gubenkian designed and sent down the runway. They had a great resort-wear feel and with all the excitement this weekend of the second Sex and the City film we must add that the whole collection was very remniscent of sex and the city! We can particularly imagine Samantha or Carrie mincing around Manhattan in one of Sara’s designs!
Yeserday we headed to the graduate show of American Intercontinental University to see 14 of their finest students final collections and were very impressed by what we saw! We will feed back on the various collections through the week but to kick things of we decided to mention a particular designer that caught our eye – graduate Michelle Teckchand.
Her collection achieved the near impossible task of making sportswear sexy. The drapey dresses and jumpsuits coupled with sports bags, tennis rackets and other sporting equipment created a captivating sports luxe look that ran throughout the collection, making it more evening wear than something you would shove on for the gym! the fabrics looked both sumptuous and comfy whilst framing the models form beautifully. We suggest everyone keeps their eye on Michelle Teckchand, expect great things from her!
Last week was Australian Fashion Week and a few designers really caught our eye, the spring/summer ready to wear collections framed the female form perfectly and we loved the romantic girly designs. Collections that paticularly stood out were that of Alex Perry, Jason Brudson, Alice McAll and Camilla and Marc whom used pastels to create beautifully feminine shows whilst still keeping the fun resort wear edge.
A New Art Below gallery space has been launched in Hoxton in the first floor of the Macbeth.. and the space certainly got a major face lift. Help was enlisted from renowned graffiti artist Mike Ballard and the space is utterly transformed – to celebrate the opening of the new Art Below Gallery a private viewing was held showcasing Mike Ballard’s work and the work of Art Wars, with DJs Pierre Hangover (Real Gold), Ruby Doobey, and Mellé Modé, not to mention a free BBQ followed by an after party till 1am. What do you guys think of The Macbeth’s new look?
